Some things make a post

Had a good day out in London yesterday: research at the Society of Genealogists — not hugely successful except in proving some negatives (e.g. xxx was not baptised in the Parish Church, so I need to look for him in non-conformist records etc) — followed by excellent tapas and talk with oursin. And when I got home, I found that the lodger had spontaneously done this week's housework. So, actually, an excellent day.
2. The hedge is planted. In the end, there wasn't room for all the plants I wanted, so no beech or hazel as I plumped for colorful over ordinary. All I have to do now is feed it and water it and trim it hard in September and next year it will be a thing of beauty.
3. My car passed its MOT, which the garage spontaneously decided not to charge me for, as I'm "such a good customer."
4. There is no four.
